slothes-and-gays:

Good reasons to get mad at a vegan:

-they implied everyone can/should be vegan, ignoring issues of poverty & health that make it impractical or impossible for many people

-they tried to make you feel bad about eating something

-they believe that the current animal abuse/environmental contamination/health crisis is caused by individual consumers rather than the manipulative capitalism of the meat and dairy industries

-they support PETA (eww peta)

Bad reasons to get mad at a vegan:

-they asked you about the ingredients of a food to find out if they can eat it

-they asked if your group could go to a restaurant with a vegan option

-you asked them to explain why they are vegan and they answered

they got mad when you made fun of their diet

I got 5/10. To be fair, I have minimal knowledge of both Pokemon and the comedies.

oh my god

You got

10 out of 10

Wow! As someone who wasted countless hours of her misspent childhood playing Pokemon before heading off to college to study Middle English, let me just say this: you sure do know your incomprehensible syllables! Looks like this quiz played right into your wheelhouse, you knowledgeable demigod. You’ve probably played some Pokemon, maybe read a few books. Or you cheated. Either way, commendable

The Final Conversation – David Gaider – Medium

fuckyeahdragonage:

David Gaider, former Dragon Age writer and creator of Dorian, wrote some Dorian fan fiction.

“A note to start: I don’t work for BioWare any longer, and while I created and wrote Dorian for “Dragon Age: Inquisition”, this is purely fanfiction — a little story that planted itself in my head after a recent conversation over drinks, one which wouldn’t go away until I wrote it. Revisiting Dorian was both easier than I feared but harder than I’d imagined, so take this for what it’s worth…just a bit of time spent having fun with an old friend.”

I’ve just read your amazing essay on how dumb skyhold is (I knew it wasn’t right, but you really laid it out there!) It’s super impressive and informative! If you ever did decide to start on about the portcullis and drawbridge etc, I would definitely read it! It’s so fascinating to me! Obviously that would probably be a lot of work, so don’t consider this pressure or anything, just a note that you are awesome and what you write is super interesting! <3

[The post referred to is here for anyone interested!]

I’ve detailed some points below a read-more! This isn’t intended as a critique–largely because I couldn’t be bothered to render a raising mechanism either–but if you want to learn a wee bit about portcullises and drawbridges and whatnot then I’ve written it out below.

TL;DR: Skyhold has the aesthetics, but forgot the functionality.

HEY UK Followers.

the government is doing a consultation on the Gender Recognition Act and possible changes to it. I really recomend filling out the consultation, I’m linking via Stonewall because despite having a bit of a mixed relationship with them myself they have a good break down of the various questions in the consultation if you don’t know the exact legislation yourself.

please fill out it out to add more voices to those of our trans friends and family, particularly if you could speak out against the vileness that is the spousal consent provisions.

it takes a bit to fill out but if you are pressed for time you can save and come back to it later and deadline isn’t until october.

THANKS

heres a bit more info for non brits: britain is not an easy place to be trans, let alone transition

– there is a complex and difficult process to obtain a gender recognition certificate which currently involves living as your desired gender for at least two years, with all the difficulties being trans in a transphobic society can bring, and no legal protection

– if you’re married, your spouse can block your application. you are denied the one legal recognition of your gender available to you. and as the uk does not have no-fault divorce, the end of that marriage could be very costly and painful

– terfs fucking hijacked the biggest most important pride event in england yesterday and the media reaction is. pitiful

– even if you’re not trans or LGB in britain please, please, this is a really important time to support trans people and vocally support the right to a self-determined, non-medical, independent of marital status, legal transition in this country

– the government has helpfully provided an online platform to do just that. i urge you to read stonewalls summary of this consultation and please fellow brits ADD YOUR VOICE because the government thinks theres only 4 thousand trans people in the united kingdom and it’s a fucking joke
