shusheries:

I just wanna do a shout out to those in the Aro-Ace community(this includes demi’s and grays and so on. Everyone in the spectrum) because I don’t see these too often. If you’ve ever experienced any of the following, then this is for you.

  • Shout out to those who have heard “It’s just a phase“
  • Shout out to those who have heard “You just don’t know what you like“
  • Shout out to those who have heard “You are just a late bloomer“
  • Shout out to those who have heard “You don’t know until you try it”
  • Shout out to those who have been treated like children for being in the community
  • Shout out to those who have been threatened with rape, violence, or been bullied. You don’t deserve that.
  • Shout out to those who have been called a challenge or just “hard to get“
  • Shout out to those who have been put into uncomfortable situations to “help you“ or “fix you“
  • Shout out to those who have been in relationships before and found out you just don’t feel the attraction
  • Shout out to those who have never been in a relationship before
  • Shout out to those who have been out with who they are
  • Shout out to those who are only out to a few people
  • Shout out to those who aren’t out at all
  • Shout out to those who have to deal with uncomfortable jokes/slang
  • Shout out to those who feel repulsed by relationships/sex
  • Shout out to people who are still fine with relationships/sex
  • Shout out to those who felt before that love was actually some elaborate joke or an exaggeration
  • Shout out to those who feel or have felt like they couldn’t love
  • Shout out to those who’ve had their identity put down or called fake or were called a “special snowflake“
  • Shout out to those who struggle at home or in public
  • Shout out to those who have been called “false advertisement“ for wearing nice clothes or posting selfies
  • Shout out to those who are constantly told that they need to get married/start dating or give their parents grandchildren soon. This isn’t your responsibility
  • Shout out to those who feel uncomfortable with physical contact with others
  • Shout out to those who feel “too young“ or “two old“ to identify as part of the aro-ace community. You are still valid
  • Shout out to those who have always been in the aro-ace community.
  • Shout out to those who came into the community due to experiences
  • Shout out to those who fluctuate

I know a lot of you have to deal with feeling broken every day or that you don’t “fit the category” of the aro-ace spectrum, and you really aren’t broken and you do fit in with us. Even if I forgot to mention you in here, you are still counted here and you are still important. You are valid. Even if you feel differently later, I still want you to know that right now is what matters. You matter. I just really wish the best for all of you and that someday you can just feel happy, truly happy and accepted.
