So I decided to start a small (heh small is a bit of an understatement here) project when I quit my job back in September for @nightblink. It was meant to be sort of a Christmas/ birthday present. I wasn’t planning on it taking up until a few weeks ago to finish it but there you are.
The image is 10x 6 on 18 ct Aida cloth and used 51 different colors of embroidery floss and about 3 skeins of black alone. The first image was the inspiration. I’m so excited that I can finally post progress and final shots of it!
The program I used to create the pattern was free and called PCstitch.
Happy Easter Nightblink!
I’ve started a new project based on Sera’s tarot now and hopefully when that’s done I’ll be able to post pictures of that so keep an eye out!
This is bloody brilliant!!! I bow to you @featheredblue!
Maker’s balls! As an embroidery addict this blew my pants away! Woooow!
And because it got lost somewhere in the rebagels:
By Tinycup Needleworks,
my favourite embroidery artist of all time, the beautiful and the
macabre all rolled in to detailed miniature embroideries. Britt also
talks about her work in a fab interview here.
One project I’m working on- a tree based off of Yggdrasil with my own twist, I plan on filling it in with different browns and some black around the burls and bends.
I really love the grain/bark stitches here. Looks like just a back stitch, but very well done, making it look really realistic. I’d love to see the completed piece?
