Nathaniel: you killed my father. i hate you. i literally hate you. i came here to kill you but i’d settle for robbing you. looking at your face makes me angry. i would rather be hanged than be near you.
as a dalish elf you have solas and abelas distance themselves from you you’re a shadow of what they once were you’re too far gone you’re not “our” people
then you have mythal speaking through flemeth telling you how you do the people proud how someone so young and vibrant has come so far and she is proud? mythal the all mother the great protector deliverer of justice is proud of you personally?
that’s amazing and i want to cry?
I’d actually trust her judgement on this more than Abelas and Solas, because she’s actually seen the world. She’s seen it and the people progress – their good and bad times. The other two are just old men who haven’t left their time. Abelas has been in a temple with other ancient sentinels since the fall of Arlathan, while Solas has been sleeping until a year prior to Inquisition. Neither have been witness to the new world, and that really changes how they view the elves of modern Thedas.
That moment when your [probably] mother in law approves of you ❤
omg, Dawn. I was thinking the exact same thing. lol
Headcannon where Mythal totally manipulated events in order for Lavellan to be at the conclave because she’s tired of her [maybe]son’s shits and she wants him to settle down and provide her with grandchildren.
Lavellan Greatly Approves
Headcannon where Mythal has been searching for AGES for the perfect girl for Solas, letting him sleep all this time, knowing full well Solas will never be able to get his shit right if he remains alone.
Alas, so long as the music plays, we dance.
Centuries pass until one day, she stumble upon this little Dalish girl and she knows right away the search is over. She awakens Solas, one year before the conclave at the temple of sacred ashes. Of course, she knows him too well and he starts doing his shit. She pushes the Lavellan clan to take an interest in humans. Keeper Deshana sends the little dalish girl to the conclave at Mythal’s command (which, technically, wouldn’t be so far fetched as the keeper seemed to know something big was gonna happen). And then they meet ❤
EVERYTHING has been planned by Mythal.
I nudge history, when it’s required. Other times, a shove is needed.
Yup. She needed to shove Solas right in the vhenan.
For better or for worse(or: 5 times Hawke asked Anders to marry him) by fauxfires (tumblr & AO3)
“Damn,” Anders mutters, and looks away. “… I had a whole. I had a whole thing planned. There was going to be Fereldan stew.” He wipes at one of his eyes with the back of his hand, steadfastly not looking at Hawke. “I did a lot of thinking while you were gone about where we were when we left, love, and where we were when you left, and I…”
Hawke is grinning like a rising sun. “Yes,” he says. “Yes, obviously, of course, although I still want Fereldan stew. Also, to be carried across a threshold bridal style. Maker, Anders.”
